The ideas are still really solid and very engaging, but the book feels rushed and lacking polish. She’s courageous, loyal and she kicks ass what more can you ask for in a main character? Cass also learns from her mistakes and that’s never more obvious than when she gets a kind of second chance to right a wrong towards the end of this book. What I like about our fearless captain though, is the fact that she isn’t afraid to think for herself and go against the grain to do what’s right. I find it hard to pick a favourite character at this point as I love most of the crew. This is part of what I love about Elle Casey’s writing, you get so swept up in the story that you can’t help but feel for the characters. Who can she trust? What is his deal? How on earth is she going to get herself out of this one? You ride the highs and lows with the young captain as things play out. I found myself asking the same sorts of questions Cass was as the story unfolds. It seems nothing comes easy for our Cass Kennedy. Want to get an email when my next book is released?
